About

Who We Are

What Makes Us Different

Historically, a “Wright” is one who was considered to be a master of his vocation, specifically of tradesman… play-wright, ship-wright, timber-wright.

In ages past, a carpenter who made it his pursuit to improve houses was called a “Housewright”. Today, in an age of “contractors”, there is an absence of Skill, Pride and Passion in the trades. As a third generation craftsman, “Wright-ing” is in my blood. As Master Carpenters, it is both our identity and lifelong vocation. It’s what we know.

With over 47 combined years in the field, Lancaster County Housewrights offers our clients a full design/ build product in an overture of skill and experience. We are regarded highly by our clients and peers, and we pride ourselves in our eye for design and the quality of our work. It is not just what we do, it’s who we are.

In a day where Passion and Credibility are rare in the trades, you have my word that you can expect nothing but the utmost professionalism and quality when you work with Lancaster County Housewrights.

Meet The Owner

Jeff Troyer, Master Carpenter

I was covered in sawdust. I mean down the shirt and everything. In the boots. We were fitting some old hemlock into truss bents for a project in the back of Bent Creek, and it sparked a memory from my childhood of cutting wood with my grandfather. We’d load that old Ford Ranchero up to the top and drive back to the road on a dirt lane. I remember being around or in saw dust most of my life. It’s a glorious smell. My Grandfather and my dad were carpenters and built many homes together. I learned it all from them. Still using some of my Grandfather’s old tools.
